The Parallax View is a solo exhibition of two major works by Doug Fishbone currently showing at CIRCA, a new space for artists' film and video in Newcastle.
This exhibition brings together two major recent works that extend Fishbone's examination of consumer culture, mass media and the relativity of perception. Elmina and Untitled (Hypno Project) both question the way information is processed and presented in the contemporary visual landscape, and undermine the relationship between audience and content in different ways.
A text by JJ Charlesworth accompanies the exhibition and a live performance lecture at The Mining Institute, Newcastle upon Tyne takes place on 23.11.2011.
